Silica Ceramics is a South African ceramics studio creating handcrafted ceramic pieces, including functional homeware, sculptural objects, and ceramic wellness tools.

Throughout these Terms, "we", "our", and "us" refer to Silica Ceramics, while "you" refers to the customer or website visitor.

2. Eligibility

By using this website, you confirm that:

  • you have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

You agree to provide accurate information when placing an order.

3. Handmade Nature of Our Products

Every Silica Ceramics piece is individually handmade.

Because each item is crafted by hand, slight variations are normal and should be expected, including differences in:

  • colour

  • glaze finish

  • shape

  • dimensions

  • texture

  • weight

  • surface markings

These characteristics are part of the handmade process and are not considered defects.

Product photographs are intended to represent the item as accurately as possible. Colours may appear differently depending on your screen settings.

4. Product Availability

All products are subject to availability.

Because our work is handmade and often produced in small batches, products may sell out quickly.

We reserve the right to:

  • discontinue products

  • limit quantities

  • cancel orders due to inventory errors

  • correct pricing mistakes

If we cannot fulfil your order, you will receive a full refund for the unavailable item.

5. Pricing

All prices are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR).

Prices include VAT where applicable.

Prices may change without notice.

The price charged will be the price displayed when your order is placed.

6. Orders

After placing an order, you will receive an order confirmation email.

This email confirms that your order has been received but does not constitute acceptance of the order.

We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order if:

  • payment cannot be verified

  • fraudulent activity is suspected

  • incorrect pricing is displayed

  • stock becomes unavailable

  • shipping is not possible

7. Payment

We accept payment through secure third-party payment providers.

Payment information is processed by those providers and is never stored by Silica Ceramics.

Orders will only be processed once payment has been successfully received.

8. Shipping

We currently ship within South Africa unless otherwise stated.

Estimated delivery times are provided as a guide only.

Delivery delays may occur due to:

  • courier delays

  • public holidays

  • weather

  • manufacturing timelines

  • unforeseen circumstances

Silica Ceramics is not responsible for delays once a parcel has been handed to the courier.

Risk of loss transfers to the customer upon delivery.

9. Incorrect Delivery Information

Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping information.

If incorrect information results in failed delivery, additional shipping costs may apply.

10. Returns and Exchanges

If you receive a damaged or defective product, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery.

Please include:

  • your order number

  • photographs of the item

  • photographs of the packaging

Eligible products may be replaced, repaired, or refunded in accordance with applicable South African consumer laws.

Because our products are handmade, normal variations in appearance are not considered defects.

Items that have been:

  • dropped

  • chipped

  • misused

  • exposed to thermal shock

  • improperly cared for

cannot be refunded or replaced.

11. Ceramic Care

Ceramics should be handled with care.

Avoid:

  • sudden temperature changes

  • dropping or impact

  • improper storage

Failure to follow reasonable care practices may result in breakage.

12. Wellness Products

Our ceramic wellness tools, including gua sha tools and massage tools, are intended for personal wellness and self-care purposes only.

They are not medical devices and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Information provided on this website is for educational purposes only and should not replace professional medical advice.

Use all wellness tools at your own discretion.
